Palm Springs Unified Seeks Community Input on New State-Mandated Cell Phone Ban Policy

Palm Springs Unified School District is reaching out to the community for feedback on a new cell phone ban policy required by state law. As part of efforts to limit cell phone use in schools, the district is inviting families, staff, and other stakeholders to participate in an online survey. The survey will remain open until January 24th, providing an opportunity for the community to voice their opinions on the best way to implement the policy.

The new law, which mandates restrictions on cell phone use in California schools, is set to take effect in July 2026. Palm Springs Unified is seeking input to ensure the policy is tailored to the needs of its students and educational environment. The district hopes to gather a wide range of perspectives to guide the development of the new policy
