An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Monday, January 20, 2025!
The Coachella Valley will be under sunny skies as Santa Ana winds return to Southern California.
Beginning this afternoon, winds out of the North and Northeast will ramp-up while our air starts to dry-out. This combination has elevated the Fire Danger.
Several weather-related advisories have been posted for SoCal...
• High Wind Warning (Monday PM-Tuesday PM): Western Riverside County, South-Western San Bernardino County, West-Central San Diego County, and areas of Ventura and LA Counties.
• Wind Advisory (Monday): Eastern Riverside County, Northeastern Imperial County.
• Red Flag Warning (Monday-Tuesday): Western Riverside County, South-Western San Bernardino County, West-Central San Diego County, areas of Ventura and LA Counties.
• Air Quality Alert (Monday-Tuesday): Riverside County, Orange County, LA County, Southwestern San Bernardino County.
Although the Air Quality Alert is the only weather alert for the Coachella Valley, certain wind-prone areas will still feel the effects of those Santa Anas.
The winds may back-off by Wednesday, but extremely dry dew points will be with us through Friday.
Some computer model runs have scattered showers over the Southwest this weekend. Stay tuned!
