Beware: New PayPal Email Scam Exposes Your Account to Cyber Criminals
A new email scam targeting PayPal users is making the rounds, and it’s crucial to stay vigilant. The scam involves a seemingly legitimate email from PayPal, asking you to make a payment. However, when you click on the payment link, it doesn’t take you to PayPal's secure site. Instead, it sends your credentials directly to a cyber criminal, granting them immediate access to your PayPal account.
To protect yourself, experts recommend checking the email address of the sender by clicking on the recipient's name. If you don't recognize the sender, delete the message immediately. Even if the email looks authentic, it's important not to trust it without verifying the source.
For extra security, it's always best to navigate to PayPal directly by typing in the website URL or using the app. Avoid clicking links in unsolicited emails to keep your account safe.
Stay cautious and ensure that you’re only making payments through verified and secure channels to avoid falling victim to scams.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
