Genesis Invitational Moves to Torrey Pines After LA Wildfires
In the latest segment of the NBC Palm Springs Sports Desk, Tim O'Brien covers some significant sports developments starting with the Genesis Invitational. Due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, the iconic tournament, typically held at Riviera Country Club, will be temporarily hosted at Torrey Pines in San Diego this year. The event will take place from February 13th to the 16th, with several Los Angeles-based relief initiatives planned. The Genesis Invitational will return to Riviera in 2026.
Shifting gears to the Farmers Insurance Open, day three wrapped up with Andrew Novak rising to the top of the leaderboard. Novak posted a six-under third round to push his total to eight-under, sharing the lead with Harris English. Novak, reflecting on the pressure of holding the lead, emphasized the importance of playing his best and managing his game, particularly with putts, fairways, and greens.
