President Trump Visits Los Angeles to Assess Wildfire Damage, Pledges Federal Aid
President Trump arrived in Los Angeles today to assess the damage caused by the recent wildfires in California. Upon landing, he was greeted by Governor Gavin Newsom and the First Lady, who thanked the president for his visit and support for the state’s recovery.
While attending a fire briefing with local and state officials, President Trump expressed sympathy for those affected by the fires but highlighted the resilience of the community. "Unfortunately, it's a very sad period," he said, "but what makes you feel good is I met so many homeowners, and every one of them said to me they want to rebuild. They love the area and the people—it’s like a family."
The president assured Californians that federal aid is on the way, though he noted the assistance would come with specific use conditions. Governor Newsom, who spoke alongside the president, underscored the significance of the federal government’s ongoing support in the relief efforts, stressing its importance for both Los Angeles and the wider Southern California region.
As the state works to recover, the visit served as a reminder of the community's determination and the vital role of both state and federal resources in rebuilding efforts.
