Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Desert Hot Springs Early Monday

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle early Monday morning in Desert Hot Springs, police reported. The incident occurred around 5 a.m. near Palm Drive and Varner Road. Responding officers found a woman in the roadway, but despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial findings suggest the pedestrian was in the roadway when the crash occurred.
