Michael Orland Brings ‘Spotlight Nights’ Open Mic Night to PS Underground

Renowned pianist and American Idol musical director Michael Orland is bringing his celebrated open mic event, Spotlight Nights, to PS Underground in Palm Springs starting February 6. Orland, who has worked with some of music’s biggest stars, invites singers of all levels to step up to the mic and showcase their talents in an encouraging and fun environment.

“I love open mic nights because they give everyone a chance to sing, no matter their experience,” Orland said. “I want people to be fearless and have fun.”

Orland’s extensive musical background spans pop, jazz, country, and musical theater, ensuring he can accompany nearly any song. Performers can bring sheet music or request songs on the spot. Reservations offer two options—dinner or drinks—allowing guests to enjoy a full evening of entertainment.

A new part-time Palm Springs resident, Orland has played at major venues, including the McCallum Theatre and the Palm Springs Art Museum. Now, with Spotlight Nights, he’s creating a space for local talent to shine.
