AHL All-Star Tournament Promises Electric Atmosphere at Acrisure Arena
The highly anticipated AHL All-Star Game is set to kick off tonight at Acrisure Arena, just an hour away from the start. The round-robin tournament will feature seven thrilling games, including a championship match between the four All-Star divisions. NBC Palm Springs’ Tim O'Brien is on-site, giving us the latest from inside the arena as the excitement builds.
Joining Tim for a special interview is J.C. Solomon, TV host for the Calgary Wranglers. This is Solomon's first time at the All-Star Game and in the warm Coachella Valley, where he jokes about the weather difference between this desert oasis and the chilly Canadian winters. He mentions how the Calgary Wranglers have brought a strong presence to the event, with himself, social media coordinator Annie, and camera operator Daniel representing the team. Solomon also highlights the appearance of key Calgary Wranglers players, such as Devin Cooley and Rory Cairns, as well as the team’s assistant coach, Brett Setter, and his family.
The rivalry between the Calgary Wranglers and the Coachella Valley Firebirds has become a focal point in recent years, particularly after the teams faced off in the postseason in back-to-back years. With the Wranglers currently holding onto first place in their division, Solomon teases the possibility of another postseason clash with the Firebirds. He also invites Firebirds fans to the Saddledome in Calgary should the two teams meet again in the playoffs.
The atmosphere inside Acrisure Arena is already buzzing with anticipation, as fans eagerly await the start of the AHL All-Star Game. The round-robin format promises to deliver non-stop action, culminating in what is sure to be an intense and highly competitive championship game. Fans can expect a night of electric hockey and an unforgettable weekend of All-Star events.
Stay tuned for more coverage tonight at 6 PM as the All-Star Game gets underway.
