Palm Springs Police Chief Recruits FBI Agents Amid National Shakeup
Palm Springs Police Chief Reaches Out to Former FBI Agents Amid National Changes
With a major shakeup potentially affecting federal law enforcement, Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills sees an opportunity—one that has made national news. Mills is actively recruiting former FBI agents to join the Palm Springs Police Department, calling it a smart move, not a political one.
“This is an opportunity to grab some people who are smart, capable, have high integrity, and have already been vetted by a federal agency,” Mills explained on The Roggin Report. “Most of them have top-secret security clearances. It’s a win-win for me.”
The idea isn’t new. Mills recalled a similar situation during his time with San Diego PD, where a former CIA officer successfully transitioned into local law enforcement. He believes FBI agents with prior experience as police officers will find it easy to return to patrol work.
So far, the response has been positive. Mills revealed that after posting his recruitment call on LinkedIn, he received multiple messages—including one from a high-ranking FBI official grateful for the opportunity. "He told me, ‘I’ve pushed a black-and-white before. I’d be happy to do it again.’"
Interested applicants must apply through NeoGov, the government’s hiring portal. With top-tier talent potentially joining the force, Mills sees a bright future for Palm Springs PD. “There’s no better place to work,” he said.
