Francesca Amari Brings Classic Hits to P.S. Underground During Modernism Week
PALM SPRINGS – Francesca Amari, one of the Coachella Valley’s most sought-after performers, is bringing the iconic sounds of the 1950s and 1960s to the stage with Ponytails, Chiffon, and Shangri-La, a celebration of legendary girl groups. The show runs February 18-20 at P.S. Underground as part of Modernism Week.
Originally tested as a duo performance, the show has now expanded into a full-scale production featuring a trio of powerhouse singers—Kim Schroeder Long and Carrie Kirkland—alongside a live band. Audiences can expect to hear classics from Patti Page, Doris Day, The Chiffons, The Shirelles, and more, all delivered with rich, three-part harmonies.
In addition to Ponytails, Chiffon, and Shangri-La, Amari is also performing in The Reigning Queens, a rock-infused tribute to the music of Queen, featuring four women portraying historical queens. She also leads The Mod Squad, a Rat Pack-style trio, which performs regularly at the Palm Springs Cultural Center and Desert Theatricals Cabaret Series.
With over a decade in the valley, Amari has seen explosive growth in the local entertainment scene and is thrilled to be part of its evolution. For more on her performances, visit francescaamari.com
