Cathedral City Honors Tommy Cocan and “Dinner with Patsy” for Raising Over $130K for Local Charities
Tommy Cocan, the driving force behind the popular Dinner with Patsi events, celebrated his 65th birthday with a packed house and a surprise proclamation from Cathedral City on Wednesday night. Held monthly on the third Wednesday at various Cathedral City restaurants, these dinners have raised more than $130,000 for local charities since 2017.
What started as a small gathering raising $250 for the Boys and Girls Club has blossomed into a community staple. “Just by dressing up and having a great time, we’ve been able to give back to so many,” Cocan said. The events have not only supported local nonprofits but also raised $80,000 to help send high school students to Ireland.
Mayor of Cathedral City surprised Cocan during the dinner with a proclamation recognizing his contributions. “If we all did 10% of what Tommy does for the community, the world would be a different place,” the mayor noted.
While this month’s event sold out, Dinner with Patsi continues every third Wednesday, always benefiting local causes. To learn how to attend future events, visit the newsroom section of our website.
