College of the Desert Reports 11.5% Enrollment Increase for Spring 2025

College of the Desert has announced an 11.5% increase in enrollment for Spring 2025, reaching 4,098 full-time equivalent students. This significant growth underscores the institution's dedication to providing accessible education throughout the Coachella Valley. The college reports a total of 35,510 course enrollments, with 14,152 students registered for classes this spring, leading to full enrollment across its 1,584 course sections.

Val Martinez Garcia, Acting Superintendent/President, stated, "This growth in both headcount and course enrollment demonstrates our students’ dedication to their educational journey." She added, "We’re seeing more students not only enrolling but taking fuller course loads, which puts them on a stronger path toward graduation and transfer."

The enrollment increase spans all college locations and online courses, highlighting the institution's successful efforts to provide accessible education throughout the Coachella Valley.

For those interested in enrolling, it's not too late. The college offers fast track courses with flexible options:

  • 12-week courses beginning on February 24, 2025

  • 8-week courses starting on March 24, 2025
