Firebirds Win Back-to-Back Games as Team Hits Its Stride
This weekend, the Coachella Valley Firebirds delivered back-to-back victories, continuing their strong season performance with a 4-1 win over Calgary on Saturday and a 5-3 win over San Jose on Sunday. The team has shown an impressive level of consistency, winning in bunches all season. While the Firebirds may seem to be playing their best hockey of the season, the success is a result of their steady progress and commitment to the system the coaching staff has set for them.
Firebirds forward commented on the team’s success, saying, “It’s just ebbs and flows, and obviously we’re working every day towards something and a style of hockey that the coaches want us to play, and I think it looked pretty good this weekend.”
The team will now head on the road for games against Henderson on Wednesday, San Diego on Friday, and a trip up north to Calgary for two games. They won’t return to Acrisure Arena until March 12th.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike. Estevan Figueroa of King’s Club Barbershop is giving back across the Coachella Valley — one haircut at a time.
