Police Search for Estranged Wife in Cal Fire Captain’s Murder

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is searching for Yolanda Marodi (also known as Yolanda Olejniczak), who is suspected in the murder of her estranged wife, Cal Fire Captain Rebecca “Becky” Marodi. Becky was found stabbed to death in the home the couple had shared in Ramona for the past two years.

Yolanda’s criminal history dates back to 2000, when she served 13 years in prison for the murder of her then-estranged husband, James Olenichak. Now, nearly 25 years later, she is accused of committing a similar crime.

As the investigation unfolds, Becky’s colleagues at Cal Fire Riverside and neighbors in Ramona have organized fundraising efforts to support her family. Mindy Miner, whose husband is a firefighter, designed T-shirts honoring Becky’s memory. The shirts feature motorcycles, reflecting Becky’s passion, and angel wings to symbolize her kindness. “She would literally give the shirt off her back,” Miner said, adding that 100% of the profits will benefit Marodi’s family.

Becky’s community remembers her not just as a dedicated firefighter, but as a compassionate person. One neighbor recalled, “She stayed with me in the ambulance and at the hospital when I needed comfort. That’s just who she was.”

Authorities urge anyone with information on Yolanda Marodi’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement.
