Trump Announces $5 Million 'Gold Card' Offering Wealthy Foreigners a Path to U.S. Citizenship

The Trump administration is making headlines with its latest immigration policy shift. President Trump has announced the launch of a new 'Gold Card' program aimed at wealthy foreigners seeking to live and work in the United States. Priced at $5 million, the card promises not only green card privileges but also a pathway to citizenship.

“This is a gold card. We're going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million, and that's going to give you green card privileges plus,” said President Trump. “Wealthy people will be coming into our country by buying this card. They'll be wealthy, and they'll be successful, spending a lot of money, paying a lot of taxes, and employing a lot of people. We think it's going to be extremely successful.”

The new initiative will replace the existing EB-5 immigrant investor visa program. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that the revamped program aims to attract high-net-worth individuals who can significantly contribute to the U.S. economy.

The sale of the 'Gold Cards' is expected to begin in about two weeks, targeting affluent global investors seeking U.S. residency and eventual citizenship.
