An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, February 28, 2025!
For Southern California, the temperatures go down, while rain chances go up.
The Coachella Valley will be under lots of sunshine today, but with fair-weather high clouds drifting overhead. We'll once again experience slightly above-normal high temperatures in the middle-80s.
As a couple of disturbances swing through the Southwest, on-shore winds will become occasionally gusty beginning Saturday afternoon, especially around the San Gorgonio Pass and Desert Hot Springs areas.
The San Jacinto Mountains snow-level will start around 6700' on Sunday morning, eventually falling to 4100' Monday morning before moving back up. Areas like Idyllwild will experience rain changing to snow, while the Tram could see three-inches of new snow by Monday night.
The two systems will also chip away at our temperatures. Valley highs will slip from the middle-80s today to middle-70s on Sunday. Those numbers will be at their lowest come Monday as high temps peak in the upper-60s/lower-70s.
