Team Mom Charities Hosts Black History Month Food Drive to Combat Local Food Shortages

Team Mom Charities is celebrating Black History Month with an impactful food drive designed to tackle food insecurity in the Coachella Valley. The drive, which will run until tomorrow, is calling on community members to donate non-perishable food items and bottled water. These donations will help support local food banks, including Food Now and the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, which have been working tirelessly to meet the increasing demand for food assistance.

In an effort to make donating easier, several local businesses, including Walter Clark Legal Group and Desert Dunes Realty, have opened their doors as drop-off locations for contributions. The food drive aims to replenish supplies that have been stretched thin due to recent wildfires, which have exacerbated food shortages in the area.

“The need for food is something we often take for granted, but it has a significant impact on the lives of families in our valley,” said Walter Clark. “Kids can’t get an education if they don’t have a meal, and we need to ensure that the benefits of our community’s prosperity are shared with everyone, especially those facing hunger.”

By supporting this drive, donors are helping to ensure that no family in the area goes without the food they need. The community effort highlights the power of collective action in combating food insecurity and providing vital resources to those in need during a critical time.
