Weather
An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Saturday, March 1, 2025!
Most notably will be on-shore winds which will continue on-and-off through Monday. I'm expecting those peak wind gusts to occur during the afternoon hours of each day. A Wind Advisory has been posted through Monday and includes the very West end of the Coachella Valley through the San Gorgonio Pass.
Those Westerly winds will also kick-up dust and dirt. An Air Quality Alert has been posted for the Coachella Valley area through Sunday morning.
The first wave moving through the area will only produce very light showers later today, mostly over mountains and the Inland Empire.
The second system will produce higher precipitation totals over Southern California between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. Aside from a few possible sprinkles on the West end of the Valley, all of the measurable shower activity will occur over mountains and from the Inland Empire to the Coast.
Also, a Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for area mountains above 4500-feet between Sunday morning and Monday afternoon. Idyllwild will experience rain changing to flurries while The Tram could pick-up 4-inches of new snow.
These two frontal boundaries will also chip away at our temperatures. Valley highs today will peak in the upper-70s/lower-80s... middle-70s on Sunday... upper-60s come Monday.
