An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Sunday, March 2, 2025!
A second disturbance moving through Southern California will bring wind, dust, rain and snow through Monday.
Most notably will be on-shore winds. Although the Coachella Valley in not included in a Wind Advisory, the area is surrounded by one. Peak winds today will occur this afternoon with the strongest gusts expected around Desert Hot Springs and the High Desert and San Gorgonio Pass areas.
Those Westerly winds will also kick-up dust and dirt. An Air Quality Alert has been posted for the Coachella Valley area through Monday at noon.
Compared to yesterday's system, we can expect slightly higher precipitation totals over Southern California between this afternoon and Monday morning. Aside from a few possible sprinkles on the West end of the Valley, all of the measurable shower activity will occur over mountains, and from the Inland Empire to the Coast.
Also, a Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for area mountains above 4500-feet through Monday afternoon. Idyllwild will experience rain changing to flurries today while The Tram could pick-up 3-inches of new snow by Monday morning.
This frontal boundary will also chip away at our temperatures. Valley highs today will peak in the lower-70s followed by upper-60s Monday afternoon.
The next chance of rain will occur between late-Wednesday into Thursday.
