‘Anora’ Dominates 97th Academy Awards, Wins Best Picture, Director, and Actress

The 97th Academy Awards honored the best in film on Sunday night, with Anora emerging as the evening’s biggest winner, capturing five Oscars, including Best Picture. The comedy-drama about the tumultuous marriage of a sex worker and the son of a Russian oligarch also secured Best Actress for Mikey Madison and Best Director for Sean Baker. Baker also earned Oscars for Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing.
Meanwhile, The Brutalist took home three awards, with Adrien Brody winning Best Actor. The film also won for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.
Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, while Zoe Saldaña continued her award-season sweep by earning Best Supporting Actress for Emília Pérez, which also won Best Original Song for "El Mal."
Conan O'Brien made his debut as Oscar host, entertaining audiences at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The highly nominated Wicked also had a strong night, winning two Oscars for Costume Design and Production Design. Dune: Part Two took home awards for Sound and Visual Effects.
