Big Bear's Eagle Eggs Begin To Hatch
All eyes are on the nest of Big Bear’s famous bald eagle couple, Jackie and Shadow, as the "Pip" watch officially began Saturday evening. The community is eagerly waiting for the moment when one of the eagle eggs finally cracks open. Just as the news team was preparing to start the broadcast, Olivia Sandusky sent over a photo showing one of the eggs beginning to crack at 3:09 p.m. This marks a thrilling moment for fans of the eagle pair, as the last time one of Jackie’s babies hatched was exactly three years ago on this day. While it’s still a slow process, anticipation is growing, and everyone is crossing their fingers for a successful hatching. The Valley community is sending positive vibes to Jackie and Shadow as they prepare for the new arrival. As the hatching progresses, eagle watchers will be keeping a close eye on the nest, hoping to see the first eaglelet emerge soon. The process of an eagle hatching is a delicate and exciting one, and it’s a moment of great joy for those who have been following Jackie and Shadow’s journey. A troubling history is coming to light in a Palm Desert husband’s death. 65-year old Vicky Kim is accused in the death of her husband — but prosecutors say she had previously faced several domestic violence cases involving him. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office says it had secured protective orders against Kim before a judge later resolved her cases as misdemeanors, released her from custody and terminated those orders. Now, Kim is expected to be arraigned in connection with her husband’s death. Court records allege the weapon used was a flagpole.
