Your NBC Palm Springs Precipitation Prediction (2025-03-04)
An upper-level trough of low pressure will produce two waves across Southern California, dropping precipitation between late-Wednesday and early-Friday.
The bulk of rain and snow will fall over mountains and to the West of the Coachella Valley.
This video loop features my breakdown of when SoCal will be seeing rain along with accumulation estimates. Also here, you'll find my forecast on how much snow we can expect with this system. Places similar to the elevation of Idyllwild (5400') will see rain changing to flurries as the freezing level falls quickly to around 4200-feet on Thursday.
Along with clouds, this boundary will also play a role stalling those Valley high temperatures in the 60-degree range.
We will slowly clear-out on Friday.
