BNP Paribas Open Kicks Off Main Play at Indian Wells
The BNP Paribas Open is officially underway at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, with main tournament play beginning today. After four days of qualifying rounds, the action now counts—winners move forward while losers go home.
On the women's side, top contenders include defending champion Iga Świątek and Aryna Sabalenka. For the men, Carlos Alcaraz is eyeing a historic three-peat, joining legends Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who remains a strong favorite with five Indian Wells titles under his belt.
Tonight’s key matchups feature Naomi Osaka taking on Camila Osorio at 6 p.m. in Stadium 1, along with Clervie Ngounoue vs. Victoria Azarenka. Meanwhile, the Hall of Fame ceremony will honor doubles champions the Bryan Brothers and former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova. Tennis analyst Patrick McEnroe will also share insights on the event.
