Two Dead in Mecca Crash

A tragic crash in Mecca this morning left two people dead after a collision between a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Tundra. The crash occurred around 10:15 AM near the intersection of 68th Avenue and Grant Street, where the Tacoma was driving northbound and collided with the westbound Tundra. Following the crash, the Tundra overturned and struck a power pole, leading to fatal injuries for both the man and woman inside the vehicle.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident, but both occupants of the Tundra were declared dead at the scene due to the severity of their injuries. The driver of the Tacoma, a 25-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.

While the crash is still under investigation, officials have confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) continues to investigate the cause of the incident. The names of the deceased have not yet been released pending family notifications, and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with information. The community mourns the loss of two lives in this tragic accident.
