An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up for Tuesday, March 11, 2025!

The first of two low pressure systems will slide across Southern California today bringing with it scattered showers. The Coachella Valley could see anywhere between a few sprinkles to two-tenths of an inch of rain on its West side.

The Valley gets a break on Wednesday as that first system exits to the East and a second low approaches the Coast.

System #2 will bring widespread precipitation late-Wednesday into early-Friday morning, working its way from the West to the East. While inches of rain is possible from the Inland Empire to the Coast (where a Flood Watch has been issued), the Coachella Valley will pick-up lower amounts, anywhere between two-tenths to four-tenths of an inch of total rainfall.

We'll see some snow today with much heavier accumulation expected on Thursday. As snow levels fall, Idyllwild will see rain changing to flurries while the Tram could see up to ten-inches of new snow by Friday morning. A Winter Storm Watch (eventually a Warning) has been posted for area mountains between Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning.

These systems will also stifle Valley high temperatures. A cloudy and wet Palm Springs will only warm to a high as 67° this afternoon, just 61° on Thursday.

Valley's skies begin to clear this weekend with a returns to temps in the 70s.
