On Desert Entertainment, Lizzie Schmeling joined the show to discuss her busy schedule as one of the hardest-working performers in the Coachella Valley. She has multiple productions lined up, including a Carpenters Tribute Show, Growing Closer, happening Sunday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at Spiritual Center of the Desert in Palm Desert. The show is a personal homage to Karen Carpenter’s music and its deep connection to Schmeling’s Southern California roots.

Schmeling, a Joshua Tree native, also talked about the growth of the local theater scene. She is set to star in God of Carnage at Desert Ensemble Theatre, opening Friday for a two-week run.
