Coachella Valley Junior Firebirds Headed to State Championships, Seeking Community Support
The Coachella Valley Junior Firebirds are making a name for themselves in youth hockey, with both their 12U and 16U teams advancing to the California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) State Championships. The teams will head to San Jose from March 28-30 to compete against top-tier talent in USA Hockey’s prestigious tournament.
For many of these young athletes, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Players shared their excitement about making it this far, with one noting, "I've never had the chance to go to a state championship before, so I'm super excited but also really nervous. I think our team will do great as long as we play together."
However, the road to the championship comes with a price. The teams face travel and registration costs exceeding $25,000 and are seeking sponsorships and community support to help make their dream a reality.
To raise funds, the Junior Firebirds will host a Chuck-a-Puck event at tonight’s Coachella Valley Firebirds game. Fans can also contribute through the team’s GoFundMe page or PayPal:
