Acrisure Arena Transforms for Unleash the Beast Bull Riding Event

Acrisure Arena is set to host the adrenaline-pumping Unleash the Beast professional bull riding tour tonight. The transformation from a hockey rink to a bull riding arena has been nothing short of impressive, with extensive preparations underway. Brett Rosen reports live from Acrisure with all the details.

From Hockey Rink to Bull Riding Rodeo

Just 48 hours ago, Acrisure Arena was home to a hockey game. Since then, crews have been working tirelessly to convert the ice rink into a bull riding rodeo setup. According to event officials, it takes about 25 crew members and six hours of intense work to complete the transformation.

Official: “Since the hockey game ended at around 10:30 p.m., it takes about six hours to clean, set up, and prepare the arena. Our crew works around the clock from setup to the end of the event.”

To prepare the arena, crews laid plastic over the ice and two layers of plywood to lock in the floor before applying the dirt necessary for bull riding. The process begins as early as 3 a.m., ensuring the arena is ready for fans and competitors by the evening.

Acrisure’s Commitment to Hosting Major Events

Acrisure Arena previously hosted the Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour, a smaller PBR tour. Given the success of past events, bringing the larger Unleash the Beast tour to the arena was an easy decision.

Official: “The bigger Unleash the Beast tour is crucial for our arena and local economy. It keeps us busy and engages our passionate fan base. We’ve loved working with PBR and look forward to future events.”

Prioritizing Safety in Bull Riding

Safety remains a top priority in bull riding events. Lead bullfighter Cody Webster, part of a three-man safety team, plays a critical role in protecting riders during the high-stakes competition.

Cody Webster: “Our job is like the Secret Service for bull riders. Whether a rider makes the ride or gets bucked off, we react immediately to keep them safe. It’s a high-risk sport, and we’re there to protect them at all times.”

The bullfighting team includes Cody Webster, Lucas Teodoro, and Knox Dunn, who are all eager to deliver a safe and exciting event for fans.

Looking Ahead

The Unleash the Beast tour is set to provide fans with an unforgettable evening of bull riding action at Acrisure Arena. With top riders and bulls competing, safety measures in place, and an engaged crowd, this event promises to be a highlight in the local sports calendar.
