Man Arrested for the Murder of His Elderly Parents in Indio
A man is in custody, accused of killing his elderly parents in a suspected double homicide. The incident began on Friday when Indio police responded to a welfare check on an elderly couple at a residence on the 4500 block of Green Hills Court. After officers were unable to make contact with the couple and found no signs of foul play, they continued investigating. Police then followed leads that led them to a second location in Palm Desert. At this location, they encountered a male suspect who refused to exit the property. Officers then made a forced entry into the Indio residence and discovered the couple deceased, leading them to suspect foul play. The victims, identified as the elderly couple, were later confirmed to have died from homicide. Their son, Kevin James Reddy, was arrested at the Palm Desert location and charged with two counts of homicide. He is currently being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the details surrounding the deaths. The motives for the crime have not been publicly revealed, and law enforcement is asking anyone with further information to come forward. The deaths have shocked the local community, as the couple was well-known in the area.
