Canadian Immigration Crackdown Could Slow Local Real Estate Market

Last Friday Canada updated its travel guidelines. Starting April 11th, Canadians visiting the United States for more than 30 days will now be required to register with the U.S. government as part of a new enforcement of immigrations laws, or they will face fines and even misdemeanor prosecution.

The new crack-down will affect snowbirds who spend their winter months here in the desert and directly impact our local real estate market.

NBC Palm Springs Mary Strong sits down with local real estate expert Kathleen Sunshine O'Brien to talk more about the new immigration guidelines and the state of the local real estate market.
