King Charles Recovering at Home After Hospital Stay for Cancer Treatment Side Effects

King Charles III is recovering at home following a brief hospital stay Thursday due to temporary side effects from his ongoing cancer treatment. The Palace confirmed that the King underwent scheduled medical care and was admitted for a short period of observation.

By Thursday afternoon, King Charles had returned to Clarence House, his London residence near Buckingham Palace, with his schedule cleared as a precautionary measure.

Royal expert Emily Nash, Royal Editor for Hello! Magazine, noted, “Palace sources have stressed to me that this is a minor bump in the road for the King. He was discharged and quickly resumed working on state papers and spending time with the Queen.”

Despite the treatment, the 76-year-old monarch has maintained a relatively active schedule, including public appearances earlier this week. King Charles first revealed his cancer diagnosis in February of last year, though the specific type of cancer has not been disclosed.

The King’s brief hospitalization came at the same time as Princess Kate (the Princess of Wales), who announced her own cancer diagnosis just one month after the King. She reportedly completed preventative chemotherapy last fall and has since resumed royal duties, recently joining the Irish Guards for a St. Patrick’s Day event.

“She’s positively glowing,” said Nash. “It’s almost hard to remember that she was away for so long.”
