Two Hemet Women Plead Not Guilty to Felony Extortion in Immigration Threat Case

Olivia Lopez and Bertha Gasso were taken into custody Tuesday, after investigators say they attempted to extort a six-figure sum from a man by threatening to expose his immigration status and have him deported. Authorities confirm Gasso acted as an accomplice in the plan.

According to law enforcement, the women demanded $110,000 from the victim to keep quiet. The same amount has now been set as their bail.
