More than 200 Coachella Valley residents and visitors gathered in front of the Tesla Service Center on Perez Road in Cathedral City on Sunday, continuing a wave of demonstrations aimed at Tesla founder Elon Musk.

Protesters expressed outrage over what they described as Musk’s unchecked influence over federal policy, claiming his involvement in slashing the federal workforce and pushing for the elimination of entire government departments is causing irreparable harm to American institutions.

The demonstration spilled over onto the sidewalks along Highway 111, where signs and chants called attention to what organizers say is an alarming consolidation of political power in the hands of one private tech mogul.

A small group of counter-protesters—about six in total—gathered across the street, supporting Musk’s role in shaping government reform.

Cathedral City Police maintained a visible presence to ensure public safety, but the event remained peaceful throughout the afternoon.

Community organizers say more demonstrations are planned in the coming weeks as debate over corporate influence in politics continues to intensify.
