Desert ARC Appoints Michelle Peters as New CEO to Lead Programs for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Desert ARC, an organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has appointed Michelle Peters as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Peters, who brings over thirty years of experience in the field, will take the helm leading the continued growth and success of the vital programs and services offered to the Coachella Valley community.

Peters' appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Desert ARC, following the retirement of long-serving CEO Richard Beloco, who has led the organization through significant milestones. Having worked extensively in the Midwest, Peters is poised to bring her wealth of knowledge and passion for advocacy to the region. Her experience encompasses a wide range of leadership roles within organizations focused on supporting individuals with disabilities, from program development to policy advocacy.

As CEO, Peters will oversee the day-to-day operations of Desert ARC, including the management of various programs that empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve independence, enhance their quality of life, and participate fully in their communities.

Peters' leadership comes at a critical time as Desert ARC looks to expand its services and continue advocating for the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. She expressed excitement about working with Desert Arc’s dedicated team and board to further the organization’s mission.

Peters succeeds Richard Beloco, who is retiring after years of outstanding leadership. Under Beloco’s guidance, Desert ARC expanded its programs, reached more individuals in need, and strengthened its relationships with local businesses and community leaders.

As the organization looks to the future, Michelle Peters’ appointment is a testament to Desert ARC's commitment to continuous improvement and its unwavering dedication to enhancing the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
