Indio reminds public of Festival Traffic Disruptions
Festival season kicks off in under a week, bringing thousands of visitors to the Coachella Valley. The city of Indio is urging residents and drivers to prepare for significant traffic impacts. Avenue 50 between Monroe Street and Madison Avenue is already closed. That stretch will remain closed through Monday, May 5th. Drivers are advised to take Highway 111 or Dr. Carreon Boulevard as alternate routes. Several other roads will also be partially closed. These include Avenue 49, George Street, and Madison Street. The closures aim to ease congestion near festival grounds. For north-south travel, Washington Street and Jackson Street are good options. For east-west routes, drivers can use Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive. City officials say planning ahead will help avoid delays. Festivalgoers and locals alike are encouraged to stay alert and check maps before driving.
