Broadway’s Hairspray Hits Rancho Mirage Amphitheater for a Limited Run

The vibrant spirit of Broadway is taking center stage in the Coachella Valley as Hairspray opens at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater from April 11 through April 13.

Presented by Desert Theatricals, this Tony Award-winning musical comedy tells the uplifting story of Tracy Turnblad, a teen in 1960s Baltimore who dreams of dancing on a local TV show—and ends up leading a movement for inclusion and change. The show features beloved hits like “Welcome to the 60s” and “Good Morning Baltimore”, with high-energy choreography and big-hearted messages.

Beyond the glitz and glam, Hairspray delivers a powerful message. “Underneath the big spectacle is this story of acceptance… of why can’t we all just dance together?” said cast and crew members. “It’s timeless. It’s beautiful. And it captures a story that still matters today.”
