Trauma Support Program Expands, Needs Volunteers
The Trauma Intervention Programs (TIP) of Riverside County is expanding its presence in the Coachella Valley. The nonprofit is now seeking volunteers who want to make a difference during life’s most difficult moments. A new volunteer training academy begins May 1 at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station.
The 37-hour program is designed to teach everyday citizens how to support families and individuals in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy. Volunteers are trained to work alongside police, firefighters, and hospital staff at the scene of emergencies. They provide emotional first aid, comfort, and practical support during the first few critical hours.
TIP has helped countless families cope with sudden loss, trauma, and crisis. This expansion reflects the growing need for compassionate, trained community members in the Coachella Valley. For some volunteers, it’s a way to give back to their community in a truly meaningful way.
Others see it as a calling to be there when others need it most. No prior experience is required—just a caring heart and a willingness to serve. To learn more or register, visit the TIP Riverside County website.
