Coachella Valley Weather: Cooler Days, Gusty Winds, and a Chance of Rain Ahead
After a string of hot days, Coachella Valley is getting cooler weather. Today’s high hit 91°F—just a touch above the seasonal average of 88°F—but that’s about to change in the coming days. A noticeable cool-down is on the horizon, with temperatures expected to dip into the 70s by late week.
This drop is thanks to a low-pressure system moving into the region, bringing not only cooler temps but also some gusty winds. Wind-prone areas, particularly around Desert Hot Springs and the wind corridor just off the I-10, can expect sustained winds around 30 mph with gusts reaching into the 50s.
The shifting conditions will take residents on a bit of a temperature roller coaster. Tuesday will still be warm in the 90s, but by Wednesday we slide into the 80s, and by Thursday, we settle into the 70s. On top of that, expect increasing cloud cover and even a chance of rain by the end of the week across Southern California.
So, whether you're heading to the festival or just trying to plan your week, be ready for everything from sunshine and warmth to wind and possible showers. Don’t forget your layers—and maybe something to keep your hat from flying off!
