Signature Hole: Taking on the Tough Par-4 2nd at Indian Wells Golf Resort
Signature Hole returns to Indian Wells Golf Resort, where Brian Flath and Joe Williams take on hole 2 of the Celebrity Course. This 415-yard par 4 may look inviting with its wide fairway, but a miss to the right can mean big trouble.
Joe explains that a smart drive down the left side will funnel to the right, setting up a better angle for the approach shot. With a bit of breeze behind them, Brian opts for a three-wood instead of a driver to play for position. He places his shot nicely on the right side of the fairway, setting up a strong second shot.
On the approach, both players find the green, giving themselves solid birdie looks. Joe rolls in a well-judged putt, while Brian just misses left but secures a tap-in par. The hole proves to be a challenge, but a well-executed strategy makes par a satisfying result.

Palm Springs firefighters responded Thursday to a report of a person struck by lightning in the Chino Canyon area. The person was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Firefighters also responded to a palm tree fire in Chino Canyon that officials say was caused by an apparent lightning strike.
