April 15 Is Tax Day: Federal Filing Deadline Arrives
It’s April 15th, and that means it’s officially Tax Day—the deadline to file your federal tax return with the IRS.
While many Americans have already submitted their paperwork or received refunds, plenty of others are feeling the pressure as the final hours tick away. If you’re among the late filers, don’t panic—there’s still time to get it done before midnight.
The IRS recommends filing electronically to ensure accuracy and speed up processing times. If you're not ready to file today, you can also request an extension, which gives you until October 15 to submit your return. However, remember that an extension to file is not an extension to pay—any taxes owed are still due today.
Taxpayers can visit IRS.gov for last-minute tips, filing options, and access to free filing services for those who qualify.
