Coachella Campers Reassured: Traffic Issues Fixed For Weekend 2

For thousands of eager festivalgoers, the first weekend of Coachella 2025 turned into a logistical nightmare—and an unsanitary one at that. Campers waiting in long car lines to enter the site were left without restroom access, forcing some to relieve themselves on the side of the road.

Indio Mayor Glenn Miller says the issue stemmed from an influx of people during the long wait to enter the campground.

Goldenvoice, the event’s promoter, have since issued an apology and assured the public that measures are being taken to prevent a repeat.

“We're truly sorry,” a spokesperson said. “Once we recognized the problem, we mobilized quickly to bring in additional porta potties and support. We adjusted as fast as we could, but it wasn’t fast enough for some.”

The situation prompted coordination among longtime partners including the California Highway Patrol, local city officials, and the sheriff’s department to ensure smoother entry and better services for the remainder of the festival.

Goldenvoice has announced that more access points will be opened for Weekend Two and the upcoming Stagecoach Festival, with increased traffic support and strategically placed sanitation facilities.

“This weekend will be different—we guarantee it,” organizers emphasized. “We’ve been doing this for 25 years, and we always adapt to keep people safe and comfortable.”

Festivalgoers heading to Weekend Two can expect better flow at entrances and more access to restrooms. As for those who endured the ordeal last weekend—well, at least you’ve got a story.
