Coachella Organizers Apologize for 12-Hour Traffic Delays, Promise Fixes for Weekend Two
Coachella organizers are issuing a public apology after major traffic delays frustrated campers during the festival’s opening weekend.
Some festivalgoers reported waiting in their cars for up to 12 hours to reach the campground entrance. The traffic backup began last Thursday, when organizers say campers began arriving earlier than expected—and the flow of cars never let up.
A senior vice president with Goldenvoice addressed the issue during a La Quinta City Council meeting, saying the company is taking action to prevent a repeat for weekend two. That includes adding more toll booths at entry points to speed up security checks and reduce wait times.
Goldenvoice acknowledged the delays created significant inconvenience and assured both fans and local officials that improvements are already underway.
Coachella weekend two begins Friday at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio.
