College of the Desert Wins Big for Creative Communications Efforts

College of the Desert is being recognized for excellence—not just in academics, but in how it communicates with its community.

The school recently won five prestigious awards from the Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO), including three gold awards for outstanding communications and design work.

Among the winning projects was a student-led microsite, which earned top marks for creativity and storytelling, as well as a striking campus brochure that impressed judges with its clarity and visual appeal.

School officials say the wins reflect the college’s ongoing commitment to providing clear, accessible, and engaging content for students, faculty, and the greater Coachella Valley.

“These awards are a testament to the power of thoughtful messaging and the importance of keeping our community informed and inspired,” said a spokesperson for College of the Desert.

The CCPRO awards celebrate the best in marketing and public relations across California’s community colleges, making COD’s achievement a standout among peers.
