Glow with Pride Shines at The Living Desert Despite Dusty Forecast

Not even a dust advisory could dim the glow at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens Friday night, where the annual Glow with Pride celebration drew an enthusiastic crowd to honor and uplift the LGBTQ community.

While the surrounding areas felt gusty winds and swirling dust, the atmosphere at the zoo was surprisingly calm. Guests reported clear skies and calm breezes inside the event space—perfect conditions for an evening full of light, music, and community spirit.

The event, part of The Living Desert’s month-long Glow in the Park experience, featured dazzling lantern displays, live entertainment, and specialty cocktails—all in support of inclusivity.

Local advocate Billy Rodriguez of Silvercrest took the stage to share another reason to celebrate:
“For every ticket purchased tonight, $5 is being donated to the Palm Springs Animal Shelter,” Rodriguez said. “It’s all about loving animals—whether here at the zoo or at the shelter.”

Glow in the Park continues through April 27, so there’s still time to visit and take part in the colorful celebration.
