Macy Gray, Keith David, and Rico Rodriguez Lend Their Voices to “Sneaks”—A Feel-Good Animated Film for the Whole Family

In this week’s Agua Caliente Entertainment Report, Manny the Movie Guy brings us a feel-good animated feature that’s stepping into theaters this weekend—Sneaks. This quirky, heartwarming film follows a group of sneakers on a journey to find their soulmates—literally.

Manny sat down with voice stars Macy Gray, Keith David, and Rico Rodriguez (best known as Manny from Modern Family) to chat about their roles, favorite moments, and the deeper messages woven into the story.

Macy Gray lends her voice to Adriana, the Queen of Heels, and says she was drawn in by the film’s original concept. “A bunch of shoes hanging out and talking, having their own culture—it was just such a unique idea,” she told Manny. “It was a pleasure to be among so many illustrious people.”

Keith David and Rico Rodriguez also brought big laughs in the film—and in the interview. Rodriguez shared how his favorite one-liner, “Your mama was from Payless,” came about during recording. “Even I was reading it like, man, my character going to take that on the chin like that?”

But Sneaks isn’t just funny—it’s full of heart. “This is a movie about friendships and being true to who you are,” Rodriguez said. “Let your personality shine.”

In true Manny fashion, the interview ended in song. After reminiscing about her hit I Try, Macy and Manny shared a karaoke moment right on camera.
