Firebirds Fans Bring Passion and Community to Acrisure Arena on Fan Appreciation Night
Whether it was the giveaways, the crowd energy, or the final regular season home game buzz, Fan Appreciation Night inside Acrisure Arena brought together Firebirds fans in a way only hockey can.
Our Caitlyn Kelley was there to meet some of the most passionate fans in the American Hockey League — including David and Kyle, two familiar faces in Section 106. Kyle is known for rocking a custom Firebirds suit, while both he and David have become rallying forces for enthusiasm in the stands.
“For the past three years, this has been more than just a sport,” said David. “The Firebirds brought people together. From day one, we made real friendships—Rob, Mike, the whole section—it’s been incredible.”
Beyond their game-day passion, the duo launched the Firebird Fan Zone podcast, where they’ve interviewed stars like Riker Evans, Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr, and Cole Lind. They say the openness of the players and the accessibility of the team make being a Firebirds fan feel like being part of a family.
“These guys go to the same grocery store, the same Target,” said David. “There’s a nod, a wave, a recognition. And that connection — it’s what makes the Firebirds experience so unique.”
Kyle echoed that sentiment, explaining it’s about more than hockey — it’s about the people.
And with the playoffs just around the corner, you can bet Section 106 will be louder than ever.
