Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Coachella; No Injuries Reported

A small aircraft made an emergency landing in Coachella , drawing a swift response from local emergency crews. The incident was reported at approximately 5:33 p.m, friday . near the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 49.

The aircraft, identified as a single-engine Cessna, successfully landed in an open field without causing any damage to surrounding property. Authorities confirmed that there was one occupant aboard, who declined any further medical treatment after being assessed at the scene.

However, the plane was towing a large advertising banner, which became caught in nearby powerlines during or after the landing. The entangled banner raised safety concerns, leading the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office to temporarily close Calhoun Street while utility crews and emergency personnel handled the situation.
