Sunnylands Celebrates Earth Day With Art

Sunnylands Center & Gardens threw a celebration for Earth Day filled with creativity and connection.
Families from across the Coachella Valley gathered for a free, fun-filled Family Day.
Local artists, plant experts, and environmental partners hosted hands-on activities for all ages.
Guests explored the natural beauty of the desert while learning how to protect it.
“This is a super fun event,” said Kai Beach, who covered the celebration.
Rodica Seti, Community Program Specialist at Sunnylands, shared the day’s mission.
“Our goal is to help people learn about local ecosystems and enjoy the natural desert landscape,” she said.
It’s a space where curiosity meets conservation—and kids get to be kids.
From rattlesnake exhibits to desert-inspired art projects, there was something for everyone.
Visitors were wowed by the setting and spirit of the event.
“We love it—it’s our second time coming,” one parent shared.
Sunnylands Family Days happen monthly starting in January, with more events ahead like May’s Film in the Gardens.
