Gusty Winds and Cooler Temps Settle Over Coachella Valley: Weekend Weather Outlook
Today brought a brief break from the 90-degree streak we’ve seen recently. We topped out at 85°F—just shy of our seasonal norm of 89°F. Historically, April can bring the heat, with a record-setting 105°F back in 1949. While we’re nowhere near those numbers, it’s definitely been a noticeable change.
Looking ahead, it’s not just the thermometer giving us something to talk about. Those pesky gusty winds aren’t done with us yet. Though initial forecasts had them calming down by Thursday or Friday, updated models suggest they’re sticking around for the wind-prone areas into the weekend. Blame the storm activity rolling across the West Coast—those systems are helping to funnel those breezes our way.
Weekend Weather Highlights:
Temps dipping into the high 70s to low 80s by Saturday (expect anywhere from 77°F to 81°F).
A storm system brushing closer to Southern California, bringing minimal precipitation—likely just a sprinkle for our nearby mountain communities.
On the desert floor, we’ll feel the impact more through wind and cooler conditions rather than rain.
So, while you might want to keep the patio umbrellas tied down a little longer, it’s also the perfect time to enjoy a cooler-than-usual spring weekend—maybe even with a light jacket.
Your Comfort Air 7-Day Forecast at a Glance:
Thursday: 89°F – Close to average
Saturday: Low 80s to upper 70s – Cooler and breezy
Tuesday: Back to the 90s – Warming trend resumes
So hang tight, desert dwellers. The winds will eventually settle, the sun isn’t going anywhere, and those perfect desert days are just around the corner again.
