Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation Launches New Integrated Care Model for Mental Health and Addiction
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is transforming the way mental health and addiction care is delivered. The organization recently introduced an expanded model of care that integrates treatment for both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, reflecting a growing demand for more comprehensive behavioral health solutions.
Recognizing that nearly 79% of its patients struggle with both mental health and substance use disorders, the foundation’s new approach ensures that both aspects are addressed simultaneously. The initiative applies to all 15 of its national treatment centers, as well as virtual care programs, making the model accessible to a wider range of individuals.
“Our patients often present with complex, overlapping needs,” the foundation stated. “This new model allows us to address those needs together using a unified, evidence-based curriculum supported by multidisciplinary teams.”
The upgraded model brings together proven therapeutic practices, a standardized curriculum, and integrated care teams to deliver more personalized and effective treatment. By aligning mental health and addiction services, the foundation aims to improve patient outcomes and promote long-term recovery.
Equally important, the approach is designed to reduce the stigma often associated with behavioral health conditions. By treating mental health and substance use issues in tandem, Hazelden Betty Ford hopes to shift public perceptions and normalize seeking help for these challenges.
The move sets a new standard in the behavioral health industry and reflects a broader trend toward more holistic, patient-centered care.
